Though having high blood pressure is a serious concern, having low blood pressure is also dangerous. It can have serious complications and in serious cases, it can be life-threatening. You definitely want to prevent it. This might especially bother you if genetics is one of the causes that affect you.

You can prevent low blood pressure (hypotension) naturally if you follow certain lifestyle guidelines. These can raise your low blood pressure naturally and prevent associated symptoms like dizziness and fainting.

Tips to Prevent Low Blood Pressure (Hypotension)

  1. Nutritious Diet. A nutritious diet to prevent low blood pressure consists of fruits, vegetables, chicken,  fish, grains, and salt in the required amount. Having a nutritious diet is essential because malnutrition is one of the major causes of low blood pressure. Have 3 to 4 low carbohydrate meals. 2. Maintain dental care and oral hygiene
  3. Avoid hot weather and hot water baths because this leads to an increase in body temperature, which in turn causes the blood vessels to dilate. This can make your blood pressure fall.
  4. Detoxify your body in the following manner:
  • Clean the bowels by taking deworming laxativesThis will keep the intestinal flora healthy and promote the discharge of bile.
  • Flush the kidneys by drinking plenty of water, whereby the kidneys get flushed and toxic impurities like urea and creatinine are removed from the blood through urine. This prevents the formation of kidney stones and gall bladder stones and helps the kidneys, gall bladder, and liver to stay healthy
  • Clean the liver and the gall bladder by observing the following steps:
    • During the day have 4 to 6 apples
    • At bedtime have 2 tablespoons of olive oil
    • Follow it with 2 tbsp of freshly squeezed lemon juice
    • Followed again by one cup of pure drinking water.
    • Repeat every three months.
  1. Exercise daily. A passive exercise like walking will be useful in relieving stress and keeping your spirits high.
  2. Water intake in plenty will keep up the blood volume and prevent it from falling because low blood volume is a major cause of hypotension. This will also help in flushing the kidneys, the liver, and the gall bladder of its toxins and stones.
  3. If you feel faint or dizzy while on certain medications, consult your doctor, because certain medicines have the side effect of lowering blood pressure.
  4. After sitting down or lying down for a long time, always get up slowly. This will prevent symptoms like dizziness and fainting due to low blood pressure (postural hypotension).
  5. Meditation goes a long way to reducing stress and maintaining the various body functions.
  6. Pregnancy. Most women experience low blood pressure during pregnancy. The blood pressure begins to fall during early pregnancy and is at its lowest during the middle of the second trimester. It normalizes after the woman delivers her child. The above tips will help to prevent or minimize any symptoms of low blood pressure during pregnancy.
